News and Announcements
On Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018, Black Butte High School will be participating in a SRP Reunification Drill at the Rock Springs Family Recreation Center. All students and staff will evacuate from BBHS at approximately 9:30 a.m. and be bussed to the Rec. Center. Parents, we need your support with school safety by coming to the Rec. Center and working through the process to reunify with your child. This is a drill. If you are unable to participate in this reunification, you may also have an emergency contact pick up your student. If someone is able to pick your child up, we will ask they drive them back to Black Butte. We will continue our school day following the drill.
Anyone picking up a student will be required to show a valid ID (either driver’s license or state issued ID). Please ensure your emergency contacts are up to date with the BBHS office or 18-19 online registration form. Parents will be able to pick their students up from the Rec. Center Ice Arena entrance as early as 9:50 a.m. and until 10:30 a.m. Students unable to be picked up will be bussed back to Black Butte.
This safety drill will also involve our local community partners including RSPD, RSFD, the RS Family Recreation Center, and The City of Rock Springs to help us safely and successfully execute this drill. With all the practice, efforts, and support from our community, we know our children will be safe and protected no matter what events arise. We look forward to your participation.
